After the blue wave crashed across the country on Tuesday, the Vice President seized the opportunity to blame…. Jews. Not once, mind you, but in a list of the top four reasons the Republicans lost, the Jews were effectively blamed twice if you can hear that pitch of dog whistle.

The Vice President cited both the war in Iran and the U.S.-Israel relationship for the GOP’s losses. Quick note from the analysts at the Associated Press: “About 4 in 10 U.S. voters nationally say the economy is the most important issue facing the country, as most express concern about gas prices and the cost of groceries. About 3 in 10 say the state of democracy is the top issue. Only about 1 in 10 say the same about immigration or health care, and few name foreign policy or crime.”

So, to begin with, the Vice President is clearly, demonstrably, and unambiguously wrong. The reality is that when core constituencies are not motivated to vote, turns out, they don’t.

The war with Iran has indeed had a negative economic impact on the US and the world. A significant portion of the pain was wrought by the Vice President and the other isolationists in halls or with microphones of power who have sought to stop and hamstring the war effort. This war should’ve been over months ago, and if the Vice President wants someone to blame for that, he needs only look in the mirror.

The Vance-Carlson movement, which we call woke rightism, is as loud as their candidates are weak.

The Price of Tea in China

Don’t worry, folks, we remain nonpartisan. And it’s time to talk about Democrats. In the current Congress, we had more than a hundred Members of the Democratic Party vote to end American investment in Israel.

As we discussed in previous missives, the adversaries’ playbook is clear: they’re going to first start by trying to limit the relationship, then sever it, then sanction Israel all in the hopes the terrorists/despotic regimes can then finish the job of wiping Israel off the map.

So infected are key elements of the Democratic Party with Jew hatred that today, blaming American Jewish groups is a call to arms even in some local races where Israel and like issues are completely irrelevant.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson kicked off his reelection campaign by mentioning that he would not take money from our friends at the country’s largest Jewish pro-Israel organization – which, just like us, does not get involved in such races.

And of course, there’s New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, whose laundry list of despicably offensive statements and actions do not bear repeating. Well… except one. Recall that he threatened to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu when Israel’s Head of State was coming to the UN to deliver remarks. Mamdani subsequently admitted he didn’t have the power to follow through on his threat.

This leaves us with a few questions:

1.     A brief review of the Council on Criminal Justice’s discussion of crime in Chicago notes that the city is doing well on some fronts, but “Nonresidential burglary rose sharply (+132%), while motor vehicle theft (+8%) and homicide (+3%) also increased.”

a.     Perhaps Mayor Johnson should be devoting his time to addressing that massive wave of burglary plaguing his city. After all, that’s what mayors do; they keep their citizens safe, and it’s an important job.

2.     According to a very recent report discussing roads and driving conditions in America’s 100 largest cities, New York City ranked 97th.

a.     Perhaps Mayor Mamdani could make his city drivable. After all, that’s what mayors do; they ensure potholes are fixed, and that’s important too.

J’Accuse!

And this is what brings us to the awful, but real conclusion: these mayors, and the Vice President, are using the Jewish people as a scapegoat and political steppingstone.

The mayors may believe every drop of poison that spews from their mouths about the Jewish nation, but they know they are powerless to impact events in the Middle East – invoking Israel and/or her supporters when in campaign mode is just a different pitch of the same antisemitic dog whistle.

It wasn’t Israel’s fault that women couldn’t drive in Saudi Arabia until recently, and yet for years the pundit class argued that when the Saudi Monarchy and American Democracy disagreed, somehow Israel was the real issue.

People in the US feel American immigration practices are too strong, it’s the IDF’s fault. People in the US feel American immigration practices are too weak, it’s the fault of “liberal globalist elites” (who, when listed, are coincidentally all Jewish).

Amongst what has come to be called the American Evangelical community, there is much disgust with the numerous politicians. Moral shortcomings and betrayals of faith – including faith that God’s Covenant with Abraham and his seed remains – are forgivable, but that still doesn’t mean you get the vote.

The dalliance with the devil must come to an end. People of faith must reject, wholly and unequivocally, the hatred that has brought so many on both sides of the aisle to power.

And we’ve already begun our efforts to get this house in order and sweep out the snakes.

Sincerely,
