Pardon the interruption, but we’d like to introduce a dose of reality into the conversation as its been lacking as of late non a number of fronts…
Hamas is a Terrorist Organization
Decades ago a member of our staff was told by an Israeli official, “most of the world still doesn’t accept our right to exist.” This quote exemplifies the problem with present discussions over Hamas’s weapons and Israel’s actions in Gaza.
Israel has made very clear, regardless of who sits at the head of the table in Jerusalem – Israel’s existence is nonnegotiable. That is the lens through which the Israelis view obvious loopholes in negotiations with adversaries – such as Hamas’s agreement to give up its heavy weapons at the end of the process.
Of course they’re going to use them against the Israelis. Of course they’re going to hide a gun, a bomb, and a rocket under every crib and kindergarten. Ideologically Hamas has not changed one iota since 10/7. They still celebrate the rape and murder of their neighbors.
If need be, the Board of Peace can visit the families of the survivors of the massacre each morning, before going to work, so they can remember with whom they are seeking to make deals, and what the Israelis have suffered when “taking risks for peace.”
The reality in Gaza is that you take them apart… the guns, the terrorist infrastructure, all of it. Half-measures are full capitulations when negotiating with terrorists – and that’s exactly what the international community is doing in Gaza.
Say it with us now…. Hamas is a terrorist organization.
Too Little, Too Late
For just a moment, let’s talk about how Hassan Piker is a horrible bigot, and nobody gets a pat on the back for eventually, equivocally, tepidly, and/or begrudgingly “distancing” themselves from the hater DuJour (incidentally, remember when it was MTG… my how quickly they fade into oblivion).
This isn’t a close call. Hating on the Jewish state and blaming the Jews isn’t incidental to Hassan Piker’s fame – it’s the cause. Piker bears false witness against his Jewish neighbors as a matter of practice. And there are consequences: the demonization of the Children of Israel by Hassan Piker and his ilk has a direct impact on the rising tide of increasingly violent antisemitism we see in this country.
So, for those who recently joined the “Hassan Piker is a bit too much” bandwagon, say it with us now…. too little, too late.
They’re “stupid,” Mr. Vice President, “stupid”
On April 9th, President Trump injected a little of his own reality into the national dialogue with a somewhat lengthy post that began as follows:
I know why Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones have all been fighting me for years, especially by the fact that they think it is wonderful for Iran, the Number One State Sponsor of Terror, to have a Nuclear Weapon — Because they have one thing in common, Low IQs. They’re stupid people…
Why, then, according to reports, was the Vice President hesitant to condemn Carlson and Co. when asked during an off the record (but almost immediately leaked) event at held by the Republican Jewish Coalition?
From Politico:
“A few names: Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Joe Rogan, Nick Fuentes. They have platformed antisemites,” former Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.), the RJC’s board chair, asked Vance. “How do you draw the line, in terms of … the platforms that you appear on?
“I recognize a lot of people in this room may disagree with things that Tucker Carlson or Megyn Kelly or Joe Rogan have said,” Vance said, before pivoting to discuss Rogan and Fuentes, saying those are “two very, very different categories of people” and suggesting people like Rogan should be reasoned with, even when there are disagreements.
Remember earlier – like a few paragraphs ago - when we condemned those who equivocally, tepidly, and/or begrudgingly are distancing themselves from bigots like Piker? Silence in the face of Calrson and Co.’s bigotry is not acceptable. And in the wake of the evil we’ve seen, forcing people of faith to choose between the lesser of evils is not a winning strategy.
Say it with us now…. “Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones… They’re stupid people…”
