In this week’s edition of the CUFI Action Update, we spend all the time we’re ever going to on Joe Kent (God willing) and discuss the current situation in Iran and Lebanon.

Tragic and Predictable

The story of Joe Kent is a sad one. He gave more than one could ever ask to his country. In the end, tragically, he was clearly not up to its latest task. For example: He once claimed and still believes that the government was behind the January 6th capital attack; not a small thing for America’s counter-intelligence chief to be getting wrong – but that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

According to publicly available reporting, in the final months of his brief time serving in the Trump administration, Joe Kent was kept out of meetings and out of the process.  Add to that the FBI investigation into his leaking confidential information, and one can surmise there is more to this story than the headline he would like you to believe, namely: Israel dragged America into an unnecessary war.

Joe Kent resigned his post during wartime because, as their recent interview clearly shows, it’s easier to skirt culpability by hopping on to Tucker’s bandwagon as opposed to facing the music, so to speak. As President Trump himself suggested, if one does not see Iran for the threat that it is, then its best they leave.

Kent’s descent into Calrson’s silver tongued clutches is as tragic as it is predictable. Kent resigned due to our unjust war with Iran, just like Tucker’s phone is being spied on by the CIA (hot tip: don’t text terrorists or their ilk), but that is not the story of the war in Iran. That story, in fact, is quite different.

Actually… It’s Huge

Look, we know President Trump is known to occasionally dabble in a bit of hyperbole… but on this one, it isn’t an exaggeration. The U.S. and Israel are devastating the regime in Iran.  The best the remaining Iranian regime members can hope for is living as many days as possible before they too become just a cardboard cutout.

The United States and Israel have destroyed more of Iran’s leadership and regime infrastructure in two weeks than anyone could’ve expected.

Iran’s navy has seen more than 100 vessels damaged or destroyed, and since the beginning of the conflict, the Islamic Republic’s ability to launch missiles, UAV’s and the like has decreased by as much as 90%.

This said, this does not change the economic impact of this war, which should be acknowledged and addressed directly. The average price of gas is now $3.84 in the U.S. The Strait of Hormuz, which as we’ve discussed previously is vital to international shipping of more than just energy, is effectively closed by the Iranians.

So, what does this mean for America? Do we pack it up and look for someone to blame as we fill the tank? For some, the answer is yes - but not for us.

We didn’t come to just recently read the headlines, history books, or the Bible. And we recognize reality as it is, not as we wish it: Sometimes civilizations clash because one seeks to destroy the other. The wisest leaders do not allow their enemies to strike first; the best choose piety over popularity. Today, there is a battle between good and evil in the Middle East and right here at home. Christians United for Israel is made up of 10 million Bible believers that do more than just tune in or tune out. We are active, we are engaged, and we will not allow this country to be torn apart by any enemy - foreign or domestic.

The End of Hezbollah

Speaking of destroying enemies, the IDF is engaged in a 3-division, multi-brigade deployment in Lebanon. Hezbollah is seeing significant military degradation, especially of its most elite force known as the Radwan unit. For reference, these are the pseudo/psycho-special-forces-terrorists that would have lead Hezbollah’s planned October 7th-style massacre of northern Israel.

Israel, it appears, is going all the way in Lebanon, sending troops in to destroy the terrorist organization that the Lebanese Armed Forces had promised for decades to disarm. America’s longtime lease on pseudo-stability in Lebanon has ended.

There will come a day when we will all wake up to a world free of Hezbollah and Hamas, free of the Tyrants of Tehran, and free of the terrorists in our midst. We believe that is a day worth fighting for, and prefer the President of the United States, not the Mullahs in Iran, decide when and where.

History is replete with two archetypal leaders: the bold and bleak. We follow the bold, because that path is righteous. And in the end, the bleak and the miserable, the ones who predict doom and gloom while diving headfirst into demonization and bigotry, always lose.

Sincerely,
