With Tehran claiming progress in talks with Washington and the U.S. moving even more military assets to the region, you might expect this week’s Update to focus on the Islamic Republic, but at the end of the day not much has changed: Iran remains intransigent, Israel remains sceptical, and America is poised to end Iran’s malign activities, one way or the other and likely sooner rather than later.

Carlson’s Cowardice

With this in mind, we shift our attention, if for a moment, to Tucker Carlson’s recent visit to Israel. Although “visit” is a strong word… Carlson did in fact actually go to Israel, but he never left the airport.

Apparently he didn’t want to take our advice concerning his itinerary. Instead, he got off the plane, interviewed Ambassador Mike Huckabee, and then high tailed it out of the country.

What does it say about a person that he feels comfortable owning a home in an authoritarian state like Qatar, but is too scared (of…?) to exit the airport and see the real Israel?

Carlson has been to Israel many times, but since selling his soul and voice to international Jew-hatred, apparently, he doesn’t feel so comfortable in the Jewish state. His decision to stay in the airport/hide from the truth speaks volumes.

Mr. Carlson, you are a coward.

Marco’s Moment

With all the news around the globe, and the various foolish distractions (see above), one may have missed Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s stellar speech at the recent Munich Security Conference.

His remarks struck a courageous, mature, and statesmanlike tone.

“For the United States and Europe, we belong together. America was founded 250 years ago, but the roots began here on this continent long before. The man who settled and built the nation of my birth arrived on our shores carrying the memories and the traditions and the Christian faith of their ancestors as a sacred inheritance, an unbreakable link between the old world and the new,” Rubio said.

“We do not live in a perfect world, and we cannot continue to allow those who blatantly and openly threaten our citizens and endanger our global stability to shield themselves behind abstractions of international law which they themselves routinely violate,” the Secretary added.

Rubio’s comments and the attitude of the Tucker Carlson’s of the world could not be more at odds. The former represents the best of America - steeped in the reality of our ever-shrinking world and focused on America first but not America only.

Carlson and his philosophical acolytes represent a capitulation to evil - a retreat from morality and all that has enabled the numerous blessings bestowed upon our country. Hate is not an American value. The fortunate do not shut their eyes and ears to the less fortunate.

At the end of the day, authoritarians and isolationists have nothing in common with the American spirit, and God willing, they’ll have no say in our future.
