Several members of your CUFI Action Fund team recently returned from Poland and Israel, where we participated in the March of the Living at Auschwitz, met with a former hostage as well as survivors of the 10/7 Massacre, and saw with our own eyes what was left in the wake of that horrific day’s carnage.

From Birkenau to Be’eri, we saw the full measure of Jew-hatred’s brutality. With that in mind, let’s get into this week’s topics.

NO Iranian Nukes

During his remarks at the JNS Policy Summit in Jerusalem, CUFI founder and Chairman Pastor John Hagee addressed the “debate” (read indecisiveness) in Washington concerning the Iranian nuclear program: “Either the Islamic Republic will dismantle its nuclear program voluntarily, or the free world will do it for them.”

Pastor Hagee went on to note, “America’s capitulation to Iran a decade ago broke our promise to never again abandon the Jewish people…. As a result, the Iranian government has played multiple American administrations like a fiddle.”

We are quite confident that, unlike his predecessors, President Trump will not allow Tehran to outmaneuver him.

How do we know? Because soon after Pastor Hagee’s remarks, Axios news reported that following calls from “GOP senators, evangelical leaders,” and others, President Trump declared on Meet the Press that would accept nothing less than “total dismantlement” of Iran’s nuclear program. The Senate Republican Conference, led by Senator Tom Cotton, has also doubled down in the past week to make clear that total dismantlement is the only path to any acceptable deal.

There cannot be a JCPOA 2.0. There cannot be a nuclear-armed Islamic Republic.

NO Terrorist Enclaves

Iran’s malign activities, of course, extend well beyond Tehran’s nuclear ambitions. Its sole remaining proxy of strategic significance, the Houthi terrorists based in Yemen, continue to target the Jewish state. Most recently, a Houthi ballistic missile pierced Israel’s air defenses for the first time, striking Ben Gurion airport near Tel Aviv. Six injuries were reported.

Israel has responded targeting the main port in Yemen’s Houthi-controlled capital, where the terrorist group ships in its missiles, key industrial sites, and the main airport.

For reference, the Houthis control a portion of Yemen, while the rest is controlled by the legitimate Yemenite government, as recognized by the U.S. With this in mind, it’s clear that from Gaza to Yemen, we cannot allow terrorist enclaves to exist - anywhere.

Despite the immature bumper sticker policies of isolationists, history has shown time and again that one cannot allow terrorism to thrive in one part of the world and just hope it doesn’t invade your own backyard – or downtown New York City.

That is (literally) what the innocent people living near the Gaza border in Israel endured on 10/7. And they continue, more than 550 days later, to sustain missile attacks from Iran’s proxies in Yemen, and the daily torture of knowing 59  Israeli innocents remain in Hamas’s clutches.

With no real movement on hostage negotiations, Israel announced on Sunday that Operation Gideon’s Chariots will begin after President Trump’s visit to the Middle East next week if an agreement for the hostages has not been reached.

This operation will be very significant and include all elements of Israel’s traditional military forces, who will be tasked with clearing and holding territory in Gaza in order to squeeze Hamas.

Bottom line: Hamas won’t return the hostages so long as it thinks it can survive. And it can, in fact, survive so long as the Gazan population continues to aid and abet the terrorists who fight in their name. The war ends when the hostages come home.

NO Jew-Hatred in Congress

Last week, Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky joined with Democrats on the Senate Health, Education Labor and Pensions Committee to insert a series of absurd amendments into the Antisemitism Awareness Act.

On the (increasingly not so) fringe left, the Bernie Sanders Brigade is simply seeking to tarnish Israel. They’re not fans of the Jewish state defending itself against terrorism. In fact, they’re not fans of anyone, really, defending themselves against terrorism. Moreover, they seem far less concerned (at best) or even supportive (at worst) with the very acts of terror that caused the current Middle Eastern conflict.

On the (as of yet still) fringe right, Sen. Rand Paul, Rep’s Marjorie Taylor Greene, Thomas Massie, have chosen to go old school with their antisemitism. Space lasers, Rep. Greene seems to have learned, are too much even for those predisposed to believing whatever they hear. So, they’re going Biblical, resurrecting a blood-soaked accusation against the Jewish people: namely that “the Jews killed Jesus.”

We’re Christians United for Israel. We are led by a man who has studied the Gospel of Jesus Christ since Rep. Greene was in diapers; pardon the bluntness (or don’t) but on this, we’re the experts.

Anyone who believes the Antisemitism Awareness Act is anti-Christian or unconstitutional (or both) knows as little about the Bible as they do the Constitution.

There has been a long and tragic history of evil people holding up the Cross and blaming the Jews for deicide. As Christians, do to so is a heretical abrogation of THE fundamental tenet of Christianity: the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ. For our elected officials who like to hold up the Bible rather than read it, please see John 10:18.

Whether you wrap yourself in a Palestinian flag or the banner of the Cross, there is no fig leaf for Jew hatred. As the world’s oldest hatred, it tends to show itself far more easily than its proponents seem to realize.

All of this must be addressed in the coming weeks and months. From the Islamic Republic to the Klan Kaucus, the first step to fighting back is showing up. That’s why it is ever so important that you join us in Washington in just six weeks at the 20th annual CUFI National Summit.

Conversations with leaders will be held, decisions will be made, and the world will be impacted by all of it. Be there so that your voice can be heard loud and clear as we help shape the future of our world.

Sincerely,

The CUFI Action Fund
